THE ECONOMICS OF FISHING...TAKE A LOOK AT THE FACTS

Rich Canadian Traditions Deliver Expanding Economic Impact...

Historically, Canada's fortunes originated with fur traders, hunters and anglers. Those early outdoorsmen not only provided the very economic underpinnings for our society but also mapped and expanded the great Canadian wilderness. Their traditions are still alive and impact us today.

Canadian outdoorsmen and women are lawyers, labourers, computer programmers, bankers, manufacturers, teachers and more. They are rural or urban, rich, poor, young, old and from every province and territory. They share a common love of Canada's outdoors and, through their sports, spend billions of dollars in our economy, influence thousands of supporting jobs and hold great sway over voter behaviour and public opinion.

Let's take a closer look...
